In partnership with Menzies School of Health Research, Congress held a Diabetes: Everybody’s Business Community Day.
The aim of the day was to come together and raise awareness about diabetes and what people can do to stay healthy with a focus on both prevention and management.
Sadly recent research has shown that Central Australia has the highest rates of type 2 diabetes in the world with up to 40% of adults having type 2 diabetes, so talking and learning about diabetes, health checks and prevention is vital in closing the gap.
Nearly 200 people attended with excellent engagement from young and old attendees at the stalls.
