Congress AHP Traineeship Program Update

Advertising for AHP traineeship positions is now closed.

Congress is in the process of finalising recruitment, with successful AHP trainees scheduled to commence on 10 November 2016.

The trainees will undergo a comprehensive orientation program prepared and to be delivered by Congress Clinical Educators.

The orientation program aims to provide trainees with the skills necessary for working with others, an introduction to the clinical setting, WHS, first aid training, Communicare training, and the standard Congress and cultural orientation. The orientation will also support the trainees to complete their study agreements and Bachelor course enrolment.

Batchelor Institute has confirmed it will deliver the Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care qualification at the Alice Springs Campus for Central Australian students in 2017.

A number of remote AHP trainees have already been appointed at Santa Teresa, Ntaria and Mutitjulu.

Congress is committed to growing its AHP workforce as a key element of its Workforce Engagement and Development Plan.
